Small-Town athletes shine bright at Texas UIL State Track Meet

— Beneath the bright lights of Mike A. Myers Track Stadium and in front of thousands of cheering fans from every corner of the Lone Star State, the athletes of Grady and Garden City proved once again that Texas Class 1A track is built on grit, heart, and relentless determination.
Last Thursday at Stanton High School, seniors Jonas Rivas (left) and Valentino Rodriguez (right) signed their letters of intent to join the Navy. Both will be leaving to Navy boot camp after graduation. They are pictured with their parents and Father Michael Rodriguez.

Grady track excels at Region I meet, sends standouts to state

LEVELLAND — The Grady track and field teams turned in an impressive showing at the UIL 1A Region I Championships on May 1–2 at South Plains College, highlighted by multiple event titles from Emerie White and several podium finishes that secured spots at the state meet.

Bearkats deliver strong regional showing, qualify multiple athletes for state

ABILENE — The Garden City Bearkats turned in an impressive all-around performance at the UIL 1A Region II Championships held May 1–2 at Abilene Christian University, highlighted by several runner-up finishes and a strong group of state qualifiers.
Garden City Lady Bearkats golf team is the Class 1A State Golf Runner-Up. The team was led by senior Keegan Batla with a 4th place finish.

Glasscock County FFA Dominates Area Contests, Advances Multiple Teams to State

— Glasscock County FFA turned in an impressive all-around performance at the Area FFA Contests held at Angelo State University, earning top honors in several events and qualifying numerous teams for the state competition.
