Local high school students set sights on medical careers at summer camp

STANTON – Five ambitious Stanton High School Health Science students are trading a portion of their summer break for scrubs and stethoscopes. These local scholars were selected to attend a summer camp at Sul Ross University.

- A Lenorah family is asking for help after their pet African tortoise went missing over the weekend.Shelly, who the family calls “Shell,” belongs to Heather Christon and her family, who live near SH 176 and County Road 3301.

Stanton FFA members turned in strong performances at the District FFA Speaking Contest, earning multiple top finishes and advancing several students to the Area competition. In Exempt Speaking, Kambrie Anderson placed 2nd and qualified for Area competition, while Ryleigh Ramirez finished 5th.

Stanton Middle School Announces 5th Six Weeks Honor Roll

- Stanton Middle School has recognized a large group of students for their academic achievements during the 5th six weeks grading period. Students earning placement on the “A” and the “A/B” Honor Rolls demonstrated strong commitment, responsibility, and excellence in coursework.

Garden City High School’s

Garden City High School’s doubles team of Presley and Lacy captured the District Championship, securing a spot at the regional tournament. In singles play, Uziel placed third and will serve as the regional alternate.

Glasscock County FFA students turned in a strong performance at their first round of area contests. The Ag Sales team led the way, earning the title of Area Champions and securing a spot at the state competition.
