STANTON - Funeral mass for Amelia “Mable” Cazares of Stanton have been set for 11 a.m. on Jan. 9 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stanton with Monsignor Schwertner officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Stanton. A Rosary Vigil was Jan. 8 at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home. She was born July 13, 1950 in Goliad and died on Jan. 6, 2014 in Stanton. She married Luis Cazares Oct. 3, 1970 in Tulia. She was a lifelong resident of Stanton and was a homemaker and very active in the St Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Luis Cazares. She is survived by her daughters Gloria Marquez and Alicia Sharp both of Stanton; sons Felix Cazares and Julio Cazares both of Stanton; sisters Ofelia Saenz of Stanton and Teresa Hernandez of Victoria; brothers Santos Serna and George Serna both of Tulia; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Serving as pallbearers will be Luis Cazares, Roy Saenz Jr., Ruben Cazares Jr., Joe Luis Cazares Jr. Victor Villa, Miguel Juarez. Freddy Erives and Robert Saenz Jr.
