The Stanton High School band sent 30 students to solo and ensemble contest in Monahans

The Stanton High School band sent 30 students to solo and ensemble contest in Monahans last Saturday. Of those 30, four soloists brought home a Division 2 (excellent) rating and 14 soloists earned a Division 1 (superior) rating. Four ensembles earned a Division 1 and one ensemble earned a Division 2. Earning Division 2s on their solos are Debra Marquez, Francisco Pena, Isa Tucker and Olivia Turner. Earning Division one’s are Sterling Allen, Caleb Arndt, Codi Arndt, Skyler Church, Mya Davis, Marisol Escamilla, Hannah Franklin, Danielle Lopez, Desiree Khongraj, Brady Patrick, Kaitlyn Patrick, Anna Porter, Jonathan Ramirez and David Ramsey The soloists representing Stanton at State Solo and Ensemble in May are Caleb Arndt, Church and Porter. The clarinet trio (Sarah Hopkins, Porter and Valerie Villa) earned a Division 2 and a flute quartet (Whitney Bryan, Escamilla, Franklin and Lopez), French Horn Trio (Allen, Church and Esteban Escamilla), brass ensemble (Donavan Armendarez, Brooke Hernandez, Khongraj, Cameron Nichols, Brittny Patrick) and another brass ensemble ( Codi Arndt, Esteban Escamilla, Austin Luna, Timmy Moreno, Juan Reyna) earned Division 1s and will represent Stanton at State Solo and Ensemble in May. not pictured: Sarah Hopkins and Isa Tucker.
