SAN ANGELO - Clinton L. Eastman, 92 of San Angelo, died Feb. 11, 2014, in Shannon Hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Mason County. He graduated from Mason High School and Howard Payne University and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He married Naomi Ash on June 25, 1946. She preceded him in death on July 4, 1975. He married Lora Pierce Springer on Dec. 5, 1976. He pastored more than 23 churches in Central and West Texas. He was also camp administrator of the Permian Basin Baptist Encampment and chaplain on the Alyeska Pipeline in Alaska through the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board. As a volunteer, he taught riflery and archery to students at RA and GA summer camps. He also was a certified hunter safety instructor and taught safety education to many hunters. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Eastman; a twin sister, Lorene Bishop; a brother, Alvin Eastman; and a greatgranddaughter, Madiline Newell. He is survived by his wife, Lora Eastman; two daughters, Karlene Boucher and husband Bill of Wichita Falls and Kathryn Springer of San Angelo; two sons, Darrell Eastman and wife Paula of Odessa and JT Springer and wife Donna of Lenorah; and a sister, Alta Bishop of Junction; four granddaughters; six grandsons; four great-granddaughters; and four great-grandsons. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 14, at Grape Creek Baptist Church officiated by Brad Winchester. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Norton Cemetery in Norton. The family suggests memorials to Meals on Wheels; Grape Creek Baptist Church; or the National Rifle Association. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Grape Creek.
