Scotty Fisher, 60, died Feb. 24, 2014. He was born May 5, 1953, in Big Sandy and grew up in Stanton where he graduated from Stanton High School in 1970. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1976. It was there that he met, fell in love with, and married Susan Thompson Fisher in 1974. They raised three children in San Marcos. He was an active member of numerous community and service organizations including the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, Sertoma, Leadership San Marcos, Boy Scouts of America, and United Way. He was instrumental in the planning of Playscape San  Marcos and took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren play there. He was also a longtime member of First Baptist Church of San Marcos, and loved singing in the choir there. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Mike Fisher and beloved aunt, Mary Alice King. He is survived by his wife, Susan Fisher; daughter, Carrie Stephens, her husband, Michael Stephens and their daughters, Scout and Dylan; his son, Scott Fisher, his wife, Misty Peterson and their son, Rio; his daughter, Sarah Fisher; his mother, Dr. Sue Fisher; his sister, Maureen Michelle Hawn and her husband, John Hawn; and a multitude of extended family. Services were Feb. 27 at Pennington Funeral Home.
Arrangements were under the care and guidance of Pennington Funeral Home, 323 N. Comanche, San Marcos, Texas 78666, 512- 353-4311.
