Angela Kelly (Yoakum) Harrison

LAMESA - Angela Kelly (Yoakum) Harrison, 44 of Lamesa, died Aug. 29, 2014. Funeral services were Sept. 2 at First Baptist Church with Brother Jim Medley and Brother Gerald Bastin officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. She was born on Sept. 13, 1969, in Fort Worth at Harris Hospital. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2009 and diligently followed treatment for the following five years. She is survived by her husband of twenty-three years and three children, Matthew (age 20), Molly (age 15) and Melanie (age 8). She will be remembered with love by many, many friends, neighbors, fellow teachers, students, parents of students, dear church friends and, of course, her family and extended family. Those that were blessed to know her will remember her life as one of giving, caring and loving. They will say they never knew a kinder, more loving and considerate Christian, parent or friend. From her graduation from Tarleton State University in 1999, she found her life’s calling by diligently leading, teaching and inspiring school children and their parents to better lives. She will also be remembered, especially by those who were blessed to know her for many years, as having a rich sense of humor. She loved to laugh and readily shared laughter with everyone. She possessed a withering wit, which she wisely used carefully so never to offend, but she loved a good belly laugh and was happiest when there was lots of laughter. Most of all, she was an ardent Christian believer and faithful follower of our Lord. She carefully studied scripture over the years and was continually seeking the wisdom and inspiration of the Lord. She dearly loved her church, her family, friends and students. Those who were blessed to know her were fortunate and better for it. She showed us all how to love and live and survive with faith to the end of her life. She is survived by husband, Marshall Harrison of Lamesa; son Matthew Harrison of College Station; daughters, Molly Harrison and Melanie Harrison both of Lamesa; parents Raymond and Carol Yoakum of Fort Worth; sister, Amy Kathleen (Yoakum) Zimmerman and husband, Garland Mack Zimmerman II; grandmother, Lois Yoakum; father-in-law, Gary Harrison; mother-in-law Trudy Harrison; sister-in-law, Rebecca (Harrison) Joiner and husband, Leland Joiner; nephews, Garland Mack Zimmerman III, Jacob Raymond Zimmerman, Logan Joiner,
