MIDLAND - Jeanine Pinkerton, 79, died on Sept. 22, 2014, following a lengthy illness. She was born to the late James Lee and Vela Garrett in Grants, NM, on Jan. 12, 1935. On Sept. 30, 1952, she married her best friend Kay Pinkerton. Together they raised five children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin and aunt. She worked for the City of Midland for many years as a crossing guard. She also worked for the Parks & Recreation department for several years. She was troop leader in the Girl Scouts for all three of her daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Tim Pinkerton, and eight brothers Ray, J.L., C.A., Billy, Darrell, Harold, Lewis, and Dale Garrett. She is survived by her husband Kay Pinkerton; children Danny (Vicki) Pinkerton, Steve Pinkerton, Susie (Lee) Kaake, Beverly (Jerry) Engeldahl, and Sandra (Tebo) Vaughn; grandchildren Kimberley (Abel) Munoz, Kristy Engeldahl, Michael Pinkerton, Trinity (Diana) Vaughn, Stacy Engeldahl, Phillip Kaake, Nathan (Dene) Pinkerton, Daniel Pinkerton, Katy (Nathan) McCravey, Kelly Kaake, and Alexus Pinkerton; siblings Larry Garrett and Shirley Parnell; 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for family and friends will be at Sanchez Funeral Home in Stanton at 1pm on Sept. 27, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or any children’s charity of your choice.
