LUBBOCK - On Nov. 2, 2014, Dorothy Lee McLaren died with her family at her side. A graveside service was Nov. 5 in The Masonic Cemetery in Del Rio. She was born on April 26, 1927, in Byers to Lonnie and Lennie Mae (Quarles) Hooper. She married the love of her life, William McLaren on Jan. 11, 1946, in Lubbock. In her eyes her family hung the moon; she loved them all deeply. She was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed keeping up with many different teams. She also enjoyed reading, embroidery, puzzles and collecting stamps. Above all she loved the Lord and was a faithful Christian. She enjoyed reading the Bible and had read through it several times. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and four sisters. She leaves to cherish memories: her daughter, Kathy Lamontagne; grandchildren Robert Lamontagne and his wife Erin, Lindsay Royal and her husband of Stanton; two great-grandchildren, Bronsen and MaeLee Royal; brother T.C Hooper and his wife Cletha; and numerous nieces and nephews.
