KNICKERBOCKER - Graveside services for Bobby L. Hedrick, 85 of Knickerbocker, were May 22 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. He was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Courtney, and died after a lengthy illness May 18, 2017. He was a graduate of Stanton High School and attended Schreiner Institute in Kerrville and Sul Ross State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On Mar. 5, 1960, he married Fran Whitfield and the couple were longtime employees of El Paso Natural Gas, living in Salt Flat and other locations for over three decades. A cowboy at heart, he sold cowboy gear, handmade boots and made leather gear for cowboys for many years. After retirement from El Paso Natural Gas, he and Fran lived in Far West Texas, often near Fort Davis, finally settling in Knickerbocker outside San Angelo. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Fran of San Angelo; a daughter, Carol Lee Williamson of Midland, a sister, Betty Caldwell of Rhome; grandchildren Ollie and husband Cade Schneeman of Iraan, Kwentan “Puncher” Williamson of Midland; and great grandchildren Prather Schneeman and Carter Schneeman of Iraan.
