Over a fifth of housing units to be shut down for badly-needed work

STANTON - Texans hit hard by Hurricane Harvey won’t be able to find federal housing in Stanton - at least not for three or four months.

Rumors have swirled that some of the empty units in Stanton’s federally-subsidized housing program might be made available to some of the hardest hit South Texans, many of whom lost everything when Harvey blew in from the Gulf and swamped so many towns along the Texas coast.
