AMARILLO - Izora Elizabeth “Libby” Jackson Karber, 83 formerly of Vega, died Oct. 2, 2017, at BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo following a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 5, 1933, in Drummond, Okla., to Dora Lucy Hogue and Barney James Jackson, one of six girls. She married Edward James “Jim” Karber on April 12, 1951, in Perryton. Mrs. Karber, along with her husband Jim, owned and operated Karber’s Coffee Shop in Booker for 20 plus years and then relocated their business to Vega. She was a Baptist and lived life serving others. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, her husband Jim and great-granddaughter, Bailey Madox Greening. Survivors include a son, Mike Karber and wife Darcy of Vega; two daughters, Nancy Hopper and husband T. P. of Stanton and Kathy Groneman and husband Willard of Lubbock; one sister, Dora Abernathy of Guymon, OK; four grandchildren, Mika Jane Price and husband Daine, of Vega, Tiffany Michelle Greening and husband Mark of McKinney, Katie Elizabeth Groneman of Odessa, and Michael Travis Groneman of Seoul, South Korea; and five great-grandchildren Macy Gilley, Dakota Price, Zeke Price and Zaylee Price of Vega and Hunter Greening of McKinney.
