Stanton runs wild in first district victory

STANTON – The Stanton Buffaloes picked up their second win of season and first district win after beating Lubbock Roosevelt 43-23 last Friday night at Buffalo Stadium in Stanton.

Stanton’s rushing attacked proved to be an enigma for the Roosevelt coaching staff as six different Buffaloes carried the rock for a total of 423 yards on the ground. Every yard gained for the Buffs in the contest with Roosevelt occurred on the ground. Stanton coach John Peterson dialed up 56 rushing plays that led to 23 first downs and 30:59 of ball possession.
