SAN MARCUS - Robert Louis Roten, 92 of Stanton died Nov. 3, 2017, in a nursing home in San Marcos. Funeral services were Nov. 7, at First Baptist Church with Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery. He was born Apr. 12, 1925, in Red River County, and married Mamie Lee Perrin Aug. 7, 1942, in Clarksville. She preceded him in death Dec. 22, 2011. He served in the Army during World War II. He came to Stanton in 1942. He worked on the J.C. Sale Ranch when he first came to Stanton and worked at a dairy for a short while before going to the Army. When he came home, he worked for Finley Rhodes Motor Company as an auto mechanic. He then worked for B.F. White Motor Company as the Parts Department Manager for forty four years until his retirement. He was also a Mason and a member of the Senior Citizens Old Sorehead Band and the First Baptist Church in Stanton. Survivors include two sons Rodney Karl Roten and Robert Glenn Roten and wife, Patty; a daughter Rhonda Gilliland; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren in-laws; four great grandchildren-in-laws. The family suggests memorial be made to First Baptist Church Library, P.O.
