Bridge whackers at again - and taxpayers, drivers pay the bill

PERMIAN BASIN - If you thought getting through the maze of I-20 traffic was already a nightmare, just wait - thanks to some big trucks with big loads who didn’t bother to check out just how tall area bridges are, the interstate is going to be a big mess again - starting this week.

Two bridges, which have both been rebuilt in recent years, are going to have to be fixed yet again - and that means area drivers are going to have to pay for the repairs as well as pay with heavier traffic and the dangers of squeezing down to one lane.

Martin County residents aqre swell aware of how that works - the bridge on the west end of Stanton has recently been repaired again and there were multiple wrecks along the way.
