HOUSTON - Victor Manuel Gonzalez, 55 of Houston, died at his home Apr. 7, 2018. He was born Nov. 8, 1962, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He was raised in Stanton, and graduated from Stanton High School with Honors. He continued his education and received an Engineering Degree from Texas Tech University and his MBA from SMU. He was employed with the City of Houston as an Executive Analyst with the Legal Department, where he will be missed. He is preceded by his parents, Bruno and Piedad Gonzalez; and a brother, Alfonso Reyes. He is survived by eight sisters, Herminia Gonzalez of Stanton, Evangelina Williams (Allen) of Helena, AL, Leticia Madrid (Gustavo) of Odessa, Macrina Gonzalez (Sergio) of McAllen, Rosa George of Stanton, Maria Martinez (Mario) of Grand Prairie, Ignacia Gonzalez and Juana Gonzalez of Mexico; two brothers, Joe R. Gonzalez (Mary Jane) of Stanton, Jose Concepcion Gonzalez (Berta) of San Antonio; and many nephews and nieces who loved him and will miss him. Rosary was Apr. 12 at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on April 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 405 N. Convent St., Stanton, with Father Tim Schwertner officiating. Internment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Stanton. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231 or to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, P. O. Box 846, Stanton, TX 79782.
