LAMESA - Graveside services for Marie Cochran, 93 of Lamesa, were July 14, at Dawson County Cemetery with Ben Phipps officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Zena Marie Wells was born on March 21, 1925, in Gracemont, OK, to Sophia Tullis and Marion Wells. She died July 9, 2018, in Lamesa. Along with her mother, she was co-parented by her beloved grandparents, May and Frank Tullis, after the death of her father, when she was six months of age. She became a Christian at the age of 10 and was baptized in the Washita River in Anadarko, OK. She married Chester R. Cochran in Roswell, NM in 1941. They made their home in Roswell, before moving to Lamesa in 1955. They were married until his death on Dec. 31, 1999. They attended Second Baptist Church. She was a beautiful caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her children; Jan Napper Doss of Lamesa, Thomas Cochran and wife, Ann of Dickenson, Robert Cochran and wife, Cindy of Midland; grandchildren, Lisa Napper of Cedar Park, James Napper of Stanton, Joel Napper and wife, Jana of Lamesa, Ryan Cochran and wife, Jennifer of Midland, Terri Weatherford of Lubbock, and Jerry Doss and wife, Kim of San Angelo; sister, Lucille Green of Roswell, NM; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; sisters, Ona Wagner, Oola Cates McClain, Wanda Misel, and brother, Dale F.
