STANTON - Paul Allen Jones, 78 of Stanton, died July 21, 2018, in a Midland hospital. Graveside services were July 24, at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel with Rev. David Harp, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. He was born June 21, 1940 in Fort Worth and married Carolyn Taylor July 7, 1967, in Midland. He attended school in Stanton and graduated from Monterey High School in 1958 and attended Texas Tech University. He served in the United States Army in Germany for two years. He farmed and ranched in Martin County, retiring in 2010. His passion was children and participating in all events that included children. He especially enjoyed his grandson. He loved Texas Tech Football and Baseball, and attending stock shows and rodeos. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Stanton. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Jones of Stanton; three children, Paula Jones of Lubbock, Cody Jones and wife, DeDe of Amarillo, and Stephanie Asher and husband, Scott of Hope Springs, North Carolina; one grandson, Brandon Jones; his twin brother, John Calvin Jones and wife, Patsy of Stanton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ina Allen Jones; his grandmother, Lovie Allen; and his mother-inlaw, Maggie Taylor. The family suggests memorials to Evergreen Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 224, Stanton, Texas 79782, or to Martin County 4-H or Championship Club.
