Bale count finally gets started with three gins now working

WEST TEXAS - It clearly hass not been a good year in the cotton patch - planting rains didn’t happen for lots of folks and then it turned off hot and dry when a good rain would have been just what the doctor ordered.

One result is a bunch of empty fields - and now where there is cotton to be stripped, it’s been so wet folks can’t get into those fields to get what cotton therer is out.

Only three of the 10 gins the Martin County Messenger normally includes in the weekly bale count have anything yet to report.Robert Ornelas, P.E., the director of Transportation, Planning and Development for the TxDOT Odessa District explains the proposed changes to the east I-20 interchange to Cara Welch and Carlene Buchannan at Tuesday’s public meeting in Stanton.
