GREENWOOD - Lizzie Mae Hopper McCurdy known as Liz or MeeMaw McCurdy, of Greenwood, was surrounded by her family as she died Oct. 28, 2018. She was born on Sep. 19, 1935, in Lenorah, where she was raised. She met the love of her life, Bob McCurdy in Stanton, and they were married on April 3, 1954. They later moved to Greenwood in 1970 where they raised their three children. She spent most of her life as a stay at home mom and her children Rick McCurdy and his wife Janice of Luther, OK, Bud McCurdy and his wife Toni of Greenwood, and Elizabeth Chandler and her husband Andy of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grand children will dearly miss her. She loved her family, Elvis Presley, her dog Dolly Mae, gossip magazines, Publisher’s Clearing House and playing the card games Spite and Malice and Skip- Bo with her grandkids. She was a talented artist who loved to draw, paint, and sing, as a young woman she sang professionally for a while with Hoyle Nix and his West Texas Cowboys. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers and sisters. Services were entrusted to Ellis Funeral Home of Midland.
