Patrick plays politics with Kel Seliger, who won’t kowtow to him

WEST TEXAS - State Sen. Kel Seliger did what the people who elected him wanted - he voted for public schools and he voted to support Texas cities and counties when Lt.Gov. Dan Patrick came after schools, cities and counties with new state controls and tax issues.

And this week it cost him - Patrick played what many of Seliger’s supporters say is dirty politics by knocking Seliger off, first the Higher Education Committee and then - using a bogus “lewd comment claim” kicked Seliger out as chair of the Ag Committee.
