NEW DEAL – Stanton is still looking for its second win of the season as 2A No. 7-ranked New Deal built a 14-0 advantage through three quarters before the game was called due to weather, Friday at Noland Stadium in New Deal.

Stanton’s defense was back to its hard hitting, stingy ways keeping New Deal scoreless in the first quarter. But New Deal managed two big plays late in the first half with two touchdowns, as Haden Caudill scored on a 13-yard run, and also threw an 11-yard TD pass to Dylan Jerden.

“We were very physical at the line of scrimmage and the secondary did an outstanding job of putting themselves in position to make plays,” said Stanton coach Cody Hogan. “We intercepted the ball on each of New Deal’s first two drives and allowed a minimal amount of yardage on the ground.”
