STANTON - Students across Martin County were expecting to return from Spring Break and head back to the classrooms on Monday, but Stanton Independent School District administrators had different ideas and a quick response to Covid-19 closed all campuses in Stanton until Mar. 27.

Grady students are currently on Spring Break until Mar. 20 and scheduled to return to class on Mar. 23.

Since the announcement, Stanton superintendent Dr. Merl Brandon has joined a conference call with the Texas Commissioner of Education, Mike Morath, and every other school superintendent in Texas for a question and answer forum.

These forums have led 900 of the 1200 school districts in Texas to shut the doors for at least a week. Many have chosen to close for two weeks while others have already made the decision to not return for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year.
