Two week worship challenge turns into 100 day phenomenon

STANTON - A challenge that was only supposed to last two weeks will host its 100th Day of Worship at Beal Park in Midland on June 21 from 7 - 10 pm.

Albert Hall, First Baptist Church of Stanton Youth and Music Minister, was returning from a mission trip in Spain when he was informed he would have to quarantine for 14 days due to COVID-19 guidelines. He was approached by a God loving young man, Andrew Wheeler of Stanton, with a challenge to lead a social media worship service for each day of the quarantine.

“I accepted the 14 day challenge and intended to stop once the quarantine was completed,” stated Hall. “But I received a message how the time of worship had truly impacted this lady’s family so I decided to continue.”

Over the next three months, Hall took to social media to lead worship with his voice and piano and has reached places as far as Washington, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand just to name a few.
