Grady ISD recently announced the names of its students whose grades qualified for the fifth six weeks honor rolls Second Grade: Caleb Cook, Kailynn Peugh, Ariana Rodriguez and Kaelyn Titsworth.

Blocker, Fine plan ceremony on June 20 at Brownfield

Koy and Tammy Blocker of Martin County are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Maegan Brooke Blocker, to Kylor Parks Fine, son of Alan and Connie Fine of Ira. Maegan is the granddaughter of Joann Peugh and the late JE Peugh and Corky and Sara Blocker all of Stanton.

Stanton’s 8th grade band

Stanton’s 8th grade band earned a Division One (superior) rating on stage and in sight reading at contest in Colorado City on February 26. This is the 4th year in a row to earn that sweepstakes award. The band is under the direction of Jennifer Condon.

Buff band competes at state

STANTON - Eleven Stanton High School band students earned a shot at state recognition when they competed in solo and ensamble competition earlier this month. One, of those students, senior Skyler Church, was named  to the Association of Texas Small School Band allstateband.

Rodriguez continues advancing in journalism

WINK - After a strong finish at the O’Donnell UIL Practice Meet reported earlier, Millie Rodriguez, a senior at Grady High School, continues to excel in UIL journalism. At last weekend’s invitational meet at Wink, she finished second in news writing and fourth in feature writing, finishing behind competitors from much bigger schools such as Permian High School in Odessa.
