Lyon named to academic all-state list

AUSTIN - The Texas Girls Coaches Association honors athletes in cross country for Academic All-State in all six conferences. Athletes must have a 94 or above grade point average for years 9-11, must be a graduating senior, and must be a team member in good standing. Member coaches nominate their senior athletes and if they meet the criteria, they are selected and honored. The head varsity cross country coach must be a member of TGCA by November 1 of the school year to be eligible to nominate athletes or support staff for Academic All-State honors. In Class A, just 11 athletes from across the state were chosen for this honor. One of those selected for the special honor was Destiny Lyon of Grady High School. Lyon was coached and nominated by Jacinda Langen.
