Jesus E. Valles

Jesus E. Valles, 87, died May 27, 2015. He was a life-long resident of Midland. He was born in Stanton to the late Jose and Librada Valles on Nov. 19, 1927. He was raised and educated in Midland. He enjoyed the outdoors and sitting on the porch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Librada Valles; two-step sons, Ramon Collazo and Gregorio (Magoo) Collazo; great, great grandson, Jonah Collazo; a daughter, Corina Valles; granddaughter, Jennifer Sanchez; grandson Ricky Baeza; great grandson, Jesse Noel Valles; five sisters, Manuela, Lala, Socorro, Margarita, and Maria. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Consuelo Stone of Midland; 
daughter, Viola Vasquez and husband Efrain of Midland; stepstepson, Rudy Collazo and wife Ermelinda of Marble Falls; two step-daughters, Diana Heredia and husband Cosme, and Olga Mancha and husband Johnny, all

Pedro Ramirez Jr.

STANTON - Pedro Ramirez Jr. of Stanton was born April 20, 1958, and died June 3, 2015. Funeral services will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stanton June 5 at 10 a.m. with Father Timothy Schwertner officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery immediately following the services. A Rosary Vigil will be at the Stanton Memorial Funeral Home on June 4. He is survived by his wife Josefa Ramirez; daughters Mary Vela (Val) and Cindy Hinojosa; sons Epifanio Hinojosa Jr. (Bernice), Johnny Hinojosa (Lena), and Bobby Hinojosa (Delia), 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Arthur Cazares, Jacob Cazares, Tim Hinojosa, Arnie Hinojosa, Epifanio Hinojosa III, Joseph Hinojosa, Justin Hinojosa and Jay Hinojosa. Arrangements are under the direction of Stanton Memorial Funeral Home.

Bill Mayfield

ALPINE - Billy (Bill) Mayfield Ramsey, 88, died June 2, 2015. He was born Nov. 9, 1926, to Joe Bailey and Vyrgil Mayfield Ramsey in Merkel. He marrried Leila Jeanette Stewart on Aug. 20, 1950. Bill and Jeanette spent many years together working on ranches in Texas and Kansas making their move to Alpine in 1985. Bill and Jeanette were blessed with two sons, Joe Allen and Arthur Stewart. Joe Allen preceded his father in death. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanette of Alpine; son Arthur (Tammy) Ramsey of Alpine, five grandchildren Kristyne Ramsey of Alpine, John Ramsey of Alpine, Cooper Tate of Martin County, Colter Tate of Martin County and Carver Tate of Alpine and six great grandchildren; Tyler Abendroth, Brooke Ramsey, Jacob Rogers, Aaron Rodgers, Emmalyn Tate and Ty Tate. Services will be at 9 a.m. June 5 at Geeslin Chapel, 209 W. Sul Ross Ave., Alpine and internment will follow at 2 p. m. at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 North Big Spring Street in Midland.

BIG SPRING - Freddie Ramos of Big Spring died May 27, 2015. Funeral services were at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stanton June 2 with burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Stanton. He is survived by his wife Ashley Ramos; mother Maria Ramos; daughters Mary Ramos, Ruby Ramos and Andrea Ramos: and two sisters Lily Olivas and Estella Flores. He was preceded in death by his father Roberto Ramos Sr. and two brothers, Roberto Ramos Jr. and Jessie Ramos.

Ronnie Carroll Christian

STANTON - Ronnie Carroll Christian, 79 of Stanton, died May 22, 2015, at his home. Services were May 26 at First United Methodist Church, Midland, with Dr. Skip Hodges and Reverend Macky Pitts officiating. He was born on Oct. 21, 1935 in Lubbock to John B. (Jack) and Nola Sanders Christian. He was a 1954 graduate of Lubbock High School, and married Mylinda (Linda) Rogers on June 8, 1956. They started their life together in Lubbock, where all three of their children were born. He was employed by Southwestern Public Service where they were members of Westmont Christian Church. While living in Lubbock, he served as a coach, board member and president of Western Little League, and was instrumental in building Buster Long Field. In 1969, they moved to El Paso where he was employed by G.E. Yetley, and they were members of University Presbyterian Church. In 1972, they left the big city for small town life in Stanton.

Janice Glaze Penn

HUDSON - Graveside services for Janice Glaze Penn, 71 of Hudson will be May 30 at 10 a.m. at the Largent Cemetery with Jesse Jenkins and Dennis Abernathy officiating. Mrs. Penn was born Sep. 30, 1943, in Big Spring to the late Joe Glaze and Jessie (Robertson) Glaze, and died at her residence in Hudson May 28, 2015. She resided in Hudson for most of her life and formerly lived in Tarzan. Mrs. Penn was a homemaker and a member of Timberland Drive Church of Christ.

STANTON- Funeral mass for Luis Hernandez of Stanton was May 22 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with father Timothy Schwertner officiating. Interment follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Rosary Vigil was May 21 at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home at 7:00 pm. He was born Sept. 24, 1960, and died May 20, 2015. He worked for many years as a Truck Driver. He is survived by his parents; Rudy and Delia Hernandez of Seguin; daughters, Sandy Hernandez of Crane; Elizabeth Hernandez of San Antonio; and Jessica Hernandez of San Antonio; son, Joe Louis Hernandez of Crane; Sisters, Carol Villa of Granbury; Viola Villa of Big Spring; Patricia Arriga of Seguin; and Michelle Hernandez of Seguin; brothers, Raymond Hernandez of Seguin; Julian Hernandez of Seguin; Ricky Hernandez of Lenorah; and Benny Hernandez of Big Spring. He was preceded in death by his brother Rudy Hernandez Jr.
