Judy Mashburn

STANTON - Judy Cain Mashburn, 69 of Stanton, died Jan. 23, 2015, after battling a lengthy illness. A visitation was Jan. 25 at Gilbreath Funeral Home. Funeral services were Jan. 26 at First Baptist Church in Stanton. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery. She was born March 25, 1945, to Herman Cain and Glennie Blankenship in Midland. She married James D. Mashburn on March 24, 1964. She was a member of the Stanton community for 60 years and a member of First Baptist Church. She worked for Martin County Hospital for 23 years. She is survived by her husband James D. Mashburn of Stanton; daughter Donna Webb of San Angelo; two grandchildren Logan and Laura Webb of San Angelo; two brothers, Butch Cain of Stanton and Harold Cain of Monahans; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and son David Mashburn. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 1168, Stanton, Texas 79782.

Jose Montez Sr.

STANTON - Funeral mass for Jose Montez Sr. of Stanton was Jan. 26 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Timothy Schwertner officiating. Interment followed at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. He was born Nov. 23, 1935 in Stanton, and passed away January 22, 2015. He is survived by his wife Ramona Montez of Stanton, daughters Joanna (Auggie) Ramos of Stanton and Josie Flores of Stanton; sons Joe Montez of Stanton and Jessie (Amy) Montez of Stanton, brother Juan Montez Jr. of Stanton and sister Eva Orosco of Jal, NM.; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Auggie Ramos, Eric Ramos, Ben Flores, Tristan Flores, Chris Flores, Aaron Montez and Zeke Bryand.

Apolinar Perez

STANTON - Funeral mass for Apolinar Perez of Stanton were Jan. 23 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Timothy Schwertner officiating. Interment followed at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. He was born July 23, 1932, in Goliad and died Jan. 21, 2015. He was a farmer and resident of Stanton for many years. He is preceded in death by his wife Lupe Perez. He is survived by his daughter Mary Martinez (Mike) of Stanton; sons Oscar A. Perez (Betty) of Stanton, and Richard Perez (Lydia) of New Braunfels; 10 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Paul Martinez, Maurice Martinez, Randy Perez, Joey Perez, Danny Perez, and Anthony Perez. Honorary pallbearers Marquis Martinez, Jaylan Noyola, Julian Jase Perez, and Hunter Briseño Martinez.

SAN ANGELO - James Leslie Hale, 59, died Jan. 3 2015. A memorial service was Jan. 9 at the First Baptist Church in San Angelo. He was born April 1, 1955. Survivors include parents, James and Darleen Hale of Henrietta; children, Shawna Burch of Stanton and T.J. Hale of Midland; and a sister, Patti Pollard of Henrietta.

Jamie Chloe Boren

ROBERT LEE - Jamie Chloe Boren, 87, died Dec. 22, 2014, in Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. Funeral services were Dec. 27 at First United Methodist Church of Robert Lee with the Reverend Cyndi Weidner officiating. Burial followed in Robert Lee Cemetery. She was born Nov. 11, 1927, to Alley and Alta Bilbo in Robert Lee. She was one of five sisters, all of whom grew up in Robert Lee, often helping their father at the Bilbo Drug Store. After graduating from Robert Lee High School, she went on to study journalism at Sul Ross University and obtained her bachelor of arts and went on to write for the Sheep and Goat Raisers Magazine. She later worked for the Big Spring Herald as editor for the society section. She married Robert J. Boren at Robert Lee First United Methodist Church on June 1, 1951. Born to this union were their three children, Kathy Jo, Thomas Bilbo “”Bebo”” and John Robert.

Enrique Cázares

STANTON - Enrique Cázares, 79, known to his farming buddies as “Ricky”, died Dec. 25, 2014. He was born on July 13, 1935, in Camargo, Chihuahua, MX to Mariana and Jesus Cázares. He began farming in Texas at a very young age, and was very dedicated to his work as a cotton farmer in Martin County and also to his pecan orchards in Mexico. He retired at the age of 75 years of age. He enjoyed farming cotton, working in his summer vegetable garden, watching soccer and baseball games, attending church, as well as spending time with his family. He was especially proud of his precious grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son Juan José Cázares.
