Becky Boyce

STANTON - Becky Boyce, 66 of Stanton died Feb. 26, 2015. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., March 14, at Belvue Church of Christ in Stanton with Dr. Bill Welsh officiating. She was born Oct. 25, 1948, in Stanton to Oliver and Frances Anderson Boyce. She was a 1967 graduate of Stanton High School and 1968 graduate of Commercial College in Midland. She worked at various secretarial and bookkeeping jobs. She particularly enjoyed abstract work with Epley Abstract Company and Martin County Abstract Company. She was a lifelong member of Belvue Church of Christ, a devoted mother to a series of canine fur children, including Suzie, Tina, Little Bit, Henry, Rufus and Molly. She was keenly interested in family history and was beloved for her gentle disposition and quick sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Oliver

Jeanne Alberts Box

Jeanne Alberts Box, 47 of Stanton, died Feb. 27, 2015, in a Midland hospital. Graveside services were Mar. 3 at Evergreen Cemetery. She was born June 5, 1967, in Houston and married Paul Thomas Box Jan. 31, 2014, in
Las Vegas, NV. Survivors include her husband, Paul Thomas Box; one son, Edward Alberts and wife, Laura of Stanton; three daughters, Amber Alberts, Kaitlyn Evans and Amy Evans; her mother, Ann Alberts and one brother, Truman Alberts all of Stanton; six grandchildren; and a large extended family. Mary Sue Rowden

ABILENE - Mary Sue Rowden, 74 of Abilene died Feb. 19, 2015, in an Abilene hospital. She was born Jan. 31, 1941, to Willie Earl Lawson and Mary Jane Abernathy in Seymour. She grew up in Stanton and attended Stanton High School. She was married to Royce Don Rowden for 40years.She was a cosmetologist for 20 years and worked for Harmony Health Food for many years. She was a devoted Christian, mother and grandmother who loved and cherished her family, friends and life-long friendships. She was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings and her eldest son, Randal. She is survived by her husband, Royce; her children, Wally and his wife Shaunna Overby, Albert and his wife, Shana Overby; daughter-in-law Debbie Overby; and nine grandchildren. Services were Feb. 25 at College Baptist Church in Big Spring. Arrangements were under the direction of Girdner Funeral Home of Abilene

James “Jim” Randall Sale

STEPHENVILLE - Services for James “Jim” Randall Sale,71, who died Feb. 19, 2015, in Stephenville, were Feb. 22 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Brian L. Harbour officiating.Graveside services were Feb. 23 at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. He was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Lamesa to James Woodford  Sale and Hallie McNerlin Sale. He died Feb. 19, 2015.He graduated from Stanton High School in 1962 and Baylor University in 1966 with a BBA degree in marketing. He lived most of his life in Midland. He married his life partner Judy Ferguson on Aug. 27, 1966.  He was a landman in the oil and gas industry for 16 years and in theinsurance industry for his remaining life. He loved horses and the cowboy way of life. His greatest experience in life was the day he  accepted his Savior’s invitation to become His follower.He enjoyed teaching adults the Bible through his church. One of his on-going goals was to bring laughter and fun to those around him.

Interment will follow at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary Vigil was Feb. 15 at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home. He was born Sep. 2, 1959, in Big Spring, and died Feb. 13, 2015, in Stanton. He was a resident of Stanton and worked for Rusty’s Oil Field Services for many years. He is survived his wife Lupe Rodriguez, brother Daniel Rodriguez; sisters Antonia Rodriguez of Stanton, Teresa Rodriguez of Stanton and Lupe Rodriguez of Grand Prairie; daughter Lourdes Ruiz of Stanton; sons Junior Ruiz, Antonio Gutierrez of Stanton and Ricardo Castillo of Snyder; grandson Sebastian Gaxiola of Stanton.

ACKERLY - A.D. Reed, 86 of Ackerly, died Feb. 17, 2015, in an Odessa hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Feb. 20 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring. Interment will follow at the Ackerly Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Feb. 19 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring. He was born April 1, 1928, in Ackerly, and married Mary Oaks Dec. 20, 1953, also in Ackerly. He is well respected in the Ackerly community, having served on numerous boards, including the Cap Rock Energy Board for over 20 years, the Dawson County Hospital Board, Sands School Board, and the Ackerly Gin Board. He was a lifetime member of the Ackerly Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mary Reed of Ackerly; two sons, Billy Reed and wife Sherry of Monahans, and Don Reed of Ackerly; one daughter, Jan Reed of Midland; six grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
