Zachariah Dylan Perez

LENORAH - Funeral mass for Zachariah Dylan Perez of Lenorah was Jan. 27 at Grady High School Gymnasium with Father Tio officiating. Interment followed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary Vigil was Jan. 25 and 26 at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was born Jan. 1, 1992, in Midland and died Jan. 23, 2014, in Big Spring. He graduated in 2010 from Grady High School. He was a resident of Lenorah and worked for RK Pump and Supply. He is survived by his father Carlos and Velma Perez of Lenorah; mother Delena Franco of Virginia; grandparents Alejandro and Hortencia Perez of Lenorah and Albert Franco of Big Spring; sisters Esperanza Perez and Angelina Perez; brothers Elijah Perez and Joaquin Perez, all of Lenorah. Serving as pallbearers were Jacob Rodriguez, Josh Hinojosa, Shane Teague, Matthew Bacon, E.J Rodriguez, Mason Rutledge, Leighton Fields and Lane Shands. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Stanton Memorial Funeral Home & Chapel.

Felix Padilla

STANTON - Funeral services for Felix Padilla of Stanton have been set for 2 pm, Jan. 3, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Deacon Clemente Villa officiating. Interment will follow at St Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Rosary Vigil will be today at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home at 7 pm. Felix was born Aug. 30, 1936, in San Juan De Guadalupe Durango, Mexico and died Jan. 1, 2014, in Stanton. He was a lifelong resident of Stanton and was a farmer for several years. He is survived by his brothers Cecilo Torres of Durango Mexico, Simon Padilla of Harlingen and several nieces and nephews.

Rita Joan Knox

STANTON - Rita Joan Knox, 83, died Nov. 17, 2013, and was was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Forth Worth, to Dwight Wallace McDonald and his wife Gladys Elizabeth Midkiff. In 1932, the family moved to Midland where she graduated from Midland High School in 1948, briefly attending Hardin-Simmons University, afterward. She enjoyed three love-filled marriages in her lifetime. On Sep. 13, 1949, she and Barry Kenton Boone were married and began their lives together on the Boone Ranch in Midland County. Through their daughters, Rita and Michelle, the Boone ranching heritage has continued, to the present day. Their twenty-three years together ended
with his death in 1972. Her second marriage came on July 2, 1976, to Richard Leslie “Dick” Zimmermann. During this time, she began a lifelong bond and love for Richard’s two children, Barbara and Bob, and also became
