GRADY – The Grady Wildcats are rolling after backto- back mercy rule wins following a 56-8 victory over the Silverton Owl last Friday at M.W. Tunnell Field in Grady.

Also like last week, Grady needed just 21 offensive plays to rack up the points necessary to end the game at halftime. Several other critical plays to the blowout were the four fumble recoveries and one timely interception that gave Grady its final possession before the half.

Turnovers, disastrous second stanza spoil beginning of Burkhart era in Stanton

BIG LAKE – It wasn’t the start to the new season the Stanton Buffaloes hoped for as the Reagan County Owls defended their home turf at James H. Bird Memorial Stadium 51- 14 last Friday night in Big Lake.

The two teams were knotted at 7-7 after the first quarter and everyone in attendance figured this game would be a tight race to the finish. Unfortunately, the wheels fell off for Stanton in the second quarter allowing Reagan County 32 unanswered and a 39-7 halftime lead.

Stanton played much better in the second half allowing just 12 points while scoring another touchdown of its own.
