Garden City too much for battered Wildcats

GRADY – The Grady Wildcat’s effort showed on the field last Friday night at M.W. Tunnel Field in Grady against Garden City, but that effort never did materialize into points on the scoreboard. The Bearkats jumped out to a 32-0 lead after the first quarter and had a 16-0 lead before Grady even ran one offensive play.

Casualties mount as Grady loses another player, game

NEW HOME - Grady has either an injury bug infestation or someone, somewhere has invested in Grady Wildcat voodoo dolls. Several Wildcats are being kept off the football field and cross country course due to injuries from head to toe.

Stanton runs at Elgen Suazo Memorial

BIG SPRING - The Stanton cross country teams competed in the Elgen Suazo Memorial Meet, hosted by Forsan at Scenic Mountain on Oct. 3. The varsity girls placed second as a team with 77 points. Dalia Balderas was first for the Lady Buffs, finishing 10th in 14:37. Payden North was 14th in 14:54, Courtney Lee 16th in 15:03, Robin Beasley 18th runnign a 15:07 followed by LaNique Smith 19th, 15:09,Jessica Ramirez, 22nd, 15:20 and Alejandra Arce, 24th, 16:00.

Water Valley mounts second half comeback for win

GRADY - Grady played a nearly perfect first half to take control in Friday’s game against Water Valley, but two mistakes to start the third quarter gave Water Valley the lead and they never looked back. After building a 22-10 halftime lead, Grady had a dismal start to stole their momentum and they could not recover.

Grady cross country runs at Big Spring Invitational

BIG SPRING - Grady coach Juaquin Rodriguez loaded up his cross country teams last Saturday for the short trip east to compete at the Big Spring Cross County Invitational at Comanche Trail Park in Big Spring. The varsity boys were not able to field a team this week but were still represented well by Andrue Robles and Alejandro Jimenez. Robles placed 28th with an 18:57.03 and Jimenez was 44th with a 20:27.89.

Peewee football opens year Oct. 6

STANTON - The Stanton Lions Club peewee football league will start play Oct. 6 and will play every Tuesday starting at 6 pm each week. All games are at Buffalo Stadium.

Grady takes no mercy on Rankin Red Devils

RANKIN - The Grady Wildcats racked up over 560 yards of total offense in last week's 84-48 beat down of Rankin at Red Devil Stadium in Rankin. Grady opened the game with a good ole' fashion behind the wood shed beating scoring 36 straight points.

Buff JV splits a pair to go 2-1 on season

STANTON – Stanton’s junior varsity Buffaloes split their last two games with a dominate win over Wink and a heartbreaking loss to Forsan. The Buffs followed up their season opening win with a 40-0 victory over the Wink Wildcats.

Stanton wins regional “Battle of the Buffs” 21-20 over Forsan

STANTON - After the Stanton Buffaloes edged one of the better Class AA teams in the area last Friday, maybe it’s time for a second opinion. While the early diagnosis of some kind of bipolar issues for the Buffs may have been a bit premature, if Friday was any indication, the red and white may be starting to rectify some of their hot-and-cold tendencies.

Grady runs at San Angelo School Stampede

SAN ANGELO – Grady cross country coach Juaquin Rodriguez loaded up his teams on Sep. 12 to compete in Angelo State University School Stampede in San Angelo. The varsity and junior varsity teams competed in the same division with the varsity finishing fourth in the team standings and the junior varsity placing 11th.
