Stanton eyeing playoffs with two more wins

COAHOMA – Stanton picked up two more District 5AAA victories this past week to stay tied for second in the overall district standings. Playoff positioning is looking good with one game remaining in the district season.

No. 4 Grady still perfect in district

WELCH - Grady continues to stand alone at the top of the District 11A standings with a perfect 7-0 record. The Wildcats latest victims were Dawson and Klondike. Despite putting up 61 points, Dawson was never close enough to challenge the Cats for the victory.

Stanton Buffaloes suffer first district loss

STANTON – The Stanton Buffaloes split two District 5AAA games but are still on pace to make the playoffs. Stanton’s first district loss was last Friday against Sonora. The Buffs defense faltered during the third quarter allowing the Broncos to take a commanding lead into the final eight minutes and stroll to a lopsided victory.

Grady still in playoff hunt despite loss

ACKERLY – Grady picked up a big District 11A win over rival Sands on Friday in Ackerly but continued to struggle with O’Donnell losing to the Eagles at home for the second time this season. By splitting its last two district games the Cats record stands at 4-2.

STANTON - Stanton’s junior high girls struggled this week with two tough Colorado City teams. Theseventh grade “B” team almost pulled out a win over Colorado City last night with a score of 12-6.

Grady girls drop opener to Eagles

LENORAH — Grady made a mad dash at the end of the game against O’Donnell last Friday but the Eagles had too big a lead as Grady dropped the District 6-A opener 58-53. O’Donnell led 33-21 at the half before the Lady Wildcats made a run in the second half.
