The Stanton High School varsity girl’s golf team qualified for the regional golf meet on April 15 and 16 at Shady Oaks Golf Course in Baird..

Smith girls rack up 56 points for Stanton

Stanton’s track and field teams headed west to Denver City on March 27 to run in the Mustang Relays. With several strong performances the Buffs are poised to dominate district in the coming weeks. The varsity girls were led by Latriceia Smith and LaNique Smith who were first and third respectively for top female athletes at the Relays. Latriceia totaled 30 points and LaNique earned 26.

Sydney Gonzales

Sydney Gonzales, center, won level 9 trampoline and took third in level 9 tumbling at the Kalon Ludvigson Invitational Gymnastics meet in Orem, Utah in March. The Grady Elementary School student is the daughter of Cristy and Leandro Gonzales of Lenorah.

Jaybird turf is Grady’s first run at track and field

Even though Grady just started it track season, the district and regional meets are quickly approaching. The Wildcats traveled to Jayton on March 27 to run at the Rolling Plains Relays. Braedon Jones was the Cat’s top point getter for the varsity boy’s finishing second in the200 meters with a time of 23.16 and also being a part of the relay teams that earned fourth and fifth place finishes.

GRADY - Rack up two more bigtime post season honors for a pair of Grady Wildcats. Senior Beau Lucas and junior Cole Avery were named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State Team.

Texas coaches name Stanton’s Glaspie to all regional team

STANTON - K.J. Glaspie of Texline had few problems the Stanton Buffaloes’ Class AAA roundball team was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All Region One  team for Class AAA.A senior for the Buffs, Glaspie led the team into the state playoffs.

The disappointed

The disappointed looks on most of thefaces of the Grady Wildcats tells the tale Saturday in San Antonio when a very good Texline Tornado team got  the best of the ‘Cats in the state champioship game for Class A. Despite the loss, Grady had a great season, getting all the way to the finals

Tornado too much for Wildcats

SAN ANTONIO - Grady and Texline took the floor at the Alamodome in San Antonio Saturday for the last time in 2015 with the state title on the line. From the get go, the Wildcat  knew it was going to be adaunting task to claim the title over a team that had defeated state qualifiers in the 3A ranks.

Grady grounds Jaybirds in regional semi-final

ABILENE – It took Jayton four quarters and double overtime last Thursday to beat Eula and qualify for the Region II-A basketball tournament and it only took Grady two quarters to send them home from Moody Coliseum on Friday afternoon. Technically it was four quarters but with a 31-15 halftime lead and a Wildcat defense clicking on all cylinders versus the worn out Jaybirds, it was done at the half.
