Jimenez, Rodriguez, Lucas receive top honors at Wildcat banquet

GRADY - Dozens of awards were handed out Tuesday night at the Wildcat Gymnasium during the Annual Grady Wildcat Athletic Banquet. Lupita Jimenez, E.J. Rodriguez and Beau Lucas received the top honors as Best All-Around Athletes. All three athletes qualified for the state track and field meet in Austin last week, reached the playoffs in basketball, Rodriguez and Lucas helped the football team advance to the playoffs while Jimenez is on the sidelines as a cheerleader.

Avery to play for Abilene Christian University

After just one season with Midland College, Ellyn Avery will be taking her talents east to play hoops for NCAA Division I, Southland Conference, Abilene Christian University. Avery is a 2013 graduate of Grady High School where she excelled in basketball and track. She led her team to the regional tournament on the court before qualifying for the state track meet in the 200, 400 and mile relay.

Grady to flood Regional 1 Track and Field Meet with 13 athletes

BORDEN COUNTY - Grady’s varsity track teams competed in teh District 5-6 Area Track Mett at Borden County on April 10. The girls team title was won by New Home while the boys crown went to Borden County. Althetes finishing in the top four places qualified for the Region I Class A-DII Track Meet at South Plains College in Levelland on April 25 and 26.
