Over 50 Stanton Buffaloes

Over 50 Stanton Buffaloes and about half that of Grady Wildcats showed up for workouts this week as football practices began across Texas. Both Stanton and Grady will be putting on the pads late this week as teams get ready for the 2014 grid season

Stanton, Grady see 80 kids come out for preseason football practices

The phrase “two-a-days” is one of the most common phrases spoken  around water coolers and  coffee shops across the state of Texas.  t marked the beginning of  a few hellish weeks of twice-daily workouts in the hottest time of the year. Practices designed to get players in shape and to forge team unity through collective misery.

Midnight Madness opens grid season for Wildcats

GRADY - Something new has been added to the Grady lineup for the 2014 football season. Like schools all over Texas, the Grady Wildcats will take to the field for two-a-days starting on Aug. 4. Those hours will be posted in coming days.

Stanton Buffaloes start two-a-days Monday

STANTON - Football season is just around the corner and ready to jump into the fall spotlight. The Stanton Buffaloes will be one of hundreds of schools starting two-a-day workouts for incoming 9th - 12th graders on Aug. 4. Stanton will begin its workouts bright and early at 7 a.m.

AT&T Stadium to host all 2014 football championship games

AUSTIN- The basketball state tournament might have moved to San Antonio but the battle for state champion in all conferences will once again be a Jerry’s World in Arlington. The 2014 University Interscholastic League Football State Championship games will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington the League announced Tuesday.

Midnight Madness opens grid season for Wildcats

Meanwhile, Wildcat coaches and fans have put together a Midnight Madness event to highlight the start of the season and create some interest in the program.

Buffs, ‘Cats to play in Alamodome?

MARTIN COUNTY - It’s all about mariachis, botanas and walking down the river for the Stanton Buffaloes and Grady Wildcats, who will all be chasing a chance at the Final Four next spring. And if any of the four boys and girls teams from Martin County make it to state, they’ll be headed for San Antonio rather than Austin.

Cheer camp dates planned in Stanton

Myrick, Bird compete in all star classic

LUBBOCK - All season seniors are asked to leave it all on the field. Saturday, they were asked to do it one more time. The 10th annual ASCO football classic, held at Lowrey Field, brought graduates throughout West Texas including Mason Myrick and Austin Bird of Stanton together for the opportunity to participate in an allstar game to raise money for past players who have suffered permanent injury from playing football.
