Rude behavior for Grady, spoiling Westbrook’s New Year

WESTBROOK – The Grady Wildcats started off the New Year with a performance that rivaled the Time Square ball drop; a 52-36 dismantling of Westbrook.

The closest Westbrook had to a lead was when the game was tied at 0-0 right at tip-off. From there Grady opened up a 24-13 lead and stretched it to 40-22 by half.

The second half was nothing more than a formality with the Wildcats adding 12 points and Westbrook scoring 14 to make the final 52-36.

Long and trying season comes to a close with loss

STANTON – The season started with high hopes and great expectations, but in the end the Stanton Buffaloes were not able to right the ship and lost the final game of the season to Colorado City 48-7.

The Wolves controlled the game from start to finish with a dominating rushing attack that racked up 347 yards on the ground and kept possession for nearly 30 minutes.

Despite the lopsided loss, Stanton managed to string some plays together and compete with Colorado City but costly errors kept the Buffs off the score board.

Stanton’s only touchdown came late in the fourth quarter when Tim Avila returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. Ariel Ramos added the extra point.
