Trinidad Rubio Jr.

CALDWELL - Trinidad Rubio Jr., 77 of Caldwell and formerly of Stanton, died Dec. 17, 2016. Mass of a Christian burial was Dec. 22, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rosary was recited Dec. 21 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home. Reverend Bernard Hung was the celebrant and burial followed at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

He was born on Feb. 4, 1939, in Robstown to Trinidad Rubio Sr. and Petra (Tanguma) Rubio. He was a welder by trade and was considered a skilled carpenter. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, spending time with his family was his greatest joy in life. He was also a talented musician, playing many instruments.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Rubio; both parents, Trinidad and Petra Rubio Sr.; a daughter, Maria Rubio; a son-inlaw, Raul Frausto; two sisters, Amelia Rubio and Emila Olguin; and two brothers, Frank Rubio and Pollo Rubio.

He is survived by seven children, Jose Trinidad Rubio and wife Amanda, Linda Rubio-Frausto, Angie M. Rubio, Martin Garza Rubio and wife Mary Ann, Jose A. Rubio and wife Karla, Jesus Rene Rubio and wife Angela, and Bobby Steven Rubio; a brother, Juan Rubio; four sisters, Juanita Avalos, Teresa Booth and husband Ray, Lupita Mendoza, and Valentina Cazares; 26 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were be Maximo Barrera, Christopher Melendez, Jose Trinidad Rubio Jr., Juan Raul Frausto Jr., Guadalupe Frausto, Steven Frausto, Alexander Rubio, Jose (Pollo) Rubio, Juan Rubio, Dalvin Rubio, Danny Rubio and Justin Rubio.
