KYLE - William (Bill) Coggin, 89, died on May 13, 2017, in Kyle. Funeral services were May 17 at First Baptist Church in Stanton. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. He was born on Mar. 20, 1928, in Bisbee, AZ, born to Mason and Lillian Coggin. He is survived by his two children, daughter Patricia McKinney and husband Rick of Buda, and son Bill (Chipper) Coggin and wife Jo of Midland; grandchildren Eric McKinney and wife Miriam of Austin, Mark McKinney and wife Cassie of Austin, Paul McKinney and wife Nikki of Buda, Ryan Coggin and wife Monica of Wimberly, T.J. Wade and husband Kelly of Midland, and Kelsey Coggin of Austin. He is also survived by his ten great-grandchildren, his sisters Alta Cook of Cibolo and Evelyn Hogue and husband Pete of Midland along with numerous nieces and nephews. He grew up in Bisbee, AZ and Martin County where he graduated from Stanton High School. He worked in various industries including the oil field, farming and owned grocery stores in Big Spring and Stanton. He owned and operated Bill’s IGA Grocery and True Value Hardware in Stanton for 27 years before retiring. He was married to Roxy (Hull) Coggin until her death in Mar. 2001. Later he married Ouida (Roach) Coggin until her death in Jan. 2016. He was a member and active in the First Baptist Church of Stanton for many years and also the Mexican Baptista Church of Stanton where he and Roxy taught classes and helped with the church services. He was also a Master Mason in good standing with the Mason Lodge Midland Centennial No. 1448. He enjoyed old cars and left behind a restored 1931 Ford Model A that has been in his family since his grandfather drove it from Tennessee to Abilene. Arrangements were under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
