STANTON - According to Stanton City Administrator Jessie Montez, Chief of Police Fred Schroyer gave his verbal resignation to the Stanton City Council during Executive Session of October’s monthly city council meeting.

The resignation will not be final until Monday’s special council meeting at 7 a.m. at Stanton City Hall during which the Stanton City Council is expected to accept Schroyer’s verbal resignation and then follow with the appointment of a new chief of police.
