Scottie Welch

COLORADO CITY - Scottie Welch, 41 of Colorado City, died July 1, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services were July 6, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring. He was born Mar. 6, 1976, in Big Spring and married Holli Burns Jan. 3, 1998, in Stanton. He graduated from Grady High School and attended Cisco Junior College. He graduated from the West Central Texas Law Enforcement Academy in Abilene. He worked as a peace officer for the Scurry County Adult Probation Office, as a Deputy Sheriff for Mitchell County, and as an officer for the Big Spring Police Department. For the last 10 years, he has worked for Endeavor Energy Resources and was currently a production superintendent. He was a member of the Lenorah Baptist Church and had served on the Grady ISD School Board. He was an avid hunter. Survivors include his wife Holli Welch of Colorado City; two sons Peyton Welch and Jackson Welch both of Colorado City; his mother Charlotte Welch of Tarzan; the father-in-law and mother-in-law Dale and Linda Burns of Midland; a sister Terri Killinen of Tarzan; a sister-in-law Hailey Hurst and husband C.J. of Schulenburg; two nieces Bethany Killinen and June Hurst; and a nephew Ryan Hurst. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Welch; a brother L. V. Welch II; a brother-in-law Charles Killinen; and a nephew Andrew Hurst.
