Stanton Junior High battles Colorado City, Forsan

COLORADO CITY

– Stanton’s junior high basketball teams traveled to Colorado City last week for the first games since Christmas break and was in action this week against Forsan.

Last week, the seventh grade boys B team lost to CCity.

C. Gleghorn scored Stanton’s only two points.

The seventh grade boys A team cruised to a 25-13 victory.

J. Tally led the Buffs with nine points. D. Thiebaud and B. Hernandez scored five points each, A. Armendarez tossed in four points and J. Benedict added two.

The seventh grade girls B team dominated Colorado City 28-12.

Leading Stanton in scoring were Nevaeh and Maddison with six points each.

Ariel had four for the Buffs and Cora, Joelle, Vienna, Araceli, Abby and Iabella had two each.

Stanton’s seventh grade girls A team fell just short of victory by a score 27-24.

Aubrey V. led the team in scoring with eight points. Addi and Emma finished with six points each and Mikaela pitched in with four points.

This week against Forsan, Stanton’s seventh grade boys B team lost 17-13.

Gleghorn scored five points, A. Louder had four points and A. Gamboa had four points.

The seventh grade boys A team beat Forsan 27-18.

Tally led the red and white Buffs with nine points and B. Hernandez scored six.

Armendarez tossed in five points followed by Thiebaud with four, Benedict two and K. Isemann one.

The eighth grade boys A team struggled with Forsan losing 32-9.

Jahir Galindo scored five points and Daniel Wickler had four.

The Buffs eighth grade B team also had trouble with Forsan losing 35-8.

Matthew Whitley and Braden Dosier had four points each.

Stanton’s seventh grade girls B team destroyed Forsan 27-4.

Leading the way in scoring were Abby with eight points and Cora added seven.

Amerie tossed in four points, Maddision had two, Nevaeh two, Ariel two, and Juli two.

In the seventh grade girls A game, Stanton won 21-14.

Aubrey V. finished with a game high 11 points. Emma scored six points, Addi had two and Alexis had two.

The eighth grade girls B team lost a close game 12-9.

E. Zeron had a team high four points followed by M. Mendoza and V. Olivar.

The eighth grade girls A team lost 19-7.

A. Ramos led the team with three point and E. Day and A. Almaguer scored two points each.
