Coahoma, Jim Ned top Stanton in district games

STANTON – District action is in full swing this week with Coahoma and Jim Ned handing Stanton two losses.

Coahoma barley held home court with a 45-43 victory.

Stanton took a five-point lead early in the game but Coahoma chipped it away over the next 24 minutes to steal the victory.

Chandler Denson had a team high for Stanton with 10 points and Cody Beasley helped out with eight points.

Payton Barnhill and J. Tally ended the game with six points each and Austin Hewtty, Tyler Benedict, and Jaxson Lindell scored four each.

Ethan Quaid rounded out the books with one point.

Jim Ned proved to be as good as advertised handing Stanton a 63-23 loss.

Benedict led the Buffs with eight points and Tally finished with five.

Quaid added four points to Stanton’s total and Brayden Waggoner and Denson chipped in with three each.
