GRADY – Two Class A juggernauts clashed Monday night on Grady High School’s Tony Sawyer Memorial Court.

No. 6 Grady hosted No. 8 Sands in a Top 10 match-up of teams with only three losses each on the season.

Sands took advantage of multiple second chance opportunities to win 38-23.

Maddy Garza and Haydn Burge led the Wildcats with eight points each. Ashley Hill scored four points while Sydney Gonzales added two points and Jessi Everett scored one.

“I though the girls played a great defensive game. We really executed the things we had focused on in practice,” said Grady coach Jacinda Langen. “The back breaker for us was the number of offensive rebounds we gave up. You can’t give a team like Sands that many second chances to score because they will capitalize.”
