STANTON - Edward M. Watson II of Stanton died Feb. 9, 2018. He was 50 years old. Born in Salisbury, MD, on Aug. 4, 1967, he lived in Seaford, DE until the family moved to Beaumont in 1978. He graduated in 1985 from West Brook High School where he was on the varsity tennis team. After graduation, he went to Texas Tech University, graduating with a degree in agricultural finance and serving as a Saddle Tramp. He worked for Production Credit Association in and around Lubbock and for First Ag Credit. Recently, he was a Chief Financial Officer at hospitals in Crosbyton, Brady and currently at the Martin County Hospital in Stanton. He was a Boy Scout Leader and coached his sons’ youth baseball and football teams. He had also served as general superintendent of the Crosby County LIvestock Show. He was a memeber of Texas Association of Sports Officials and officiated football, basketball, baseball and softball games. He is survived by his wife, Melode C. Watson of Ralls and two sons, Dakotah C. Watson of Ralls and Huntor C. Watson of Lubbock. Also surviving him are his parents, Gary and Judy Watson of Seaford, DE and two brothers, Gregory E. Watson of Houston and Kyle P. Watson of Seaford, DE, and nephew, Neal D. Watson of Houston, niece Jillian C. Watson of Seaford, DE, who shared the same birthday as her uncle. A memorial service is planned for 11 am, Mar. 30 with a reception to follow at the Frist United Methodist Church of Stanton at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of choice.
