MARTIN COUNTY - Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine hit the store shelves recently and gave some insight into the upcoming 2020 high school football season.

The Stanton Buffaloes have been on a slump over the past few years and according to Campbell, 2020 will be more of the same.

Stanton is picked to finish fifth in District 4-AAA DII while Reagan County is picked last.

The four teams expected to make the playoffs are Abernathy, Idalou, Coahoma, and Lubbock Roosevelt.

The Grady Wildcats are also expected to be on the outside of District 6-A DI.

Rankin is picked to win the district followed by Garden City, Grady and Midland TLCA.

We will take a deeper look at Stanton’s district next week.

Other area teams are expected to have some success:

Midland Lee is pciked to win the title followed by Odessa Permian. Midland High is slated sixth.

Big Spring is picked last in its district but will still make the playoffs.

The Greenwood Rangers are picked to repeat as district champs following a playoff run that ended in the state semifinals.
