District 8 Junior High Cross Country Champs - Audrey Marler, Rylan O'Donnell, Kailynn Peugh, Kaelyn Titsworth, Emma Parker, Amaia Najera, Raegan Dennis, Alyssa Oviedo
LAMESA - The Grady junior high girls won the District 8 cross county meet on Oct. 19 in Lamesa.
“We had four girls medal for finishing in the top 10,” said Grady coach Jacinda Langen. “I am so proud of every one of these young ladies. They have stayed after school to practice and worked very hard.”
After tallying the points for the top five runners, Grady was tied with Sands for the team championship.
“The tiebreaker goes to the fastest sixth place runner,” said Langen. “Audrey Marler finished ahead of Sands sixth place runner to break the tie. I reminded the girls this proves that every runner and every place is important.”
