BIG SPRING - Dorothy Echols Earhart, 90 of Big Spring, died Oct. 23, 2013, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Derrick Looney, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the funeral home. She was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Coahoma and married Glen Earhart Mar. 4, 1944, in Stanton. He preceded her in death Oct. 18, 1984. She owned D&D Ceramics and loved art of any kind. Survivors include four sons, Gary Earhart of Stanton, Max Earhart of Hobbs, NM, Dick Earhart and wife Linda of Big Spring, and Fred Earhart of Abilene; two daughters, Jan Havens and husband R.G. of Post, and Dee Thomi of Dallas; 16 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mary (Smith) Echols; her stepmother, Maude Echols; two sons, Joe Earhart and Mark Earhart; one brother, Harry Echols; and two sisters, Cora White and Harriet White. The family suggests memorials be made to the West Texas Special Olympics, 401 West Texas Avenue, Suite 507, Midland, TX 79701. Arrangements were under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
