STANTON - Jessie Lee White, 99 of Stanton, died Oct. 19, 2013, at her residence. Graveside services were Oct. 21 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel with Rev. David Harp, officiating. She was born Dec. 12, 1913, to Perry and Nellie Martin in Palestine, moving to Martin County at an early age to the family farm outside Stanton. She married Edward (Cotton) Henson and raised four sons, Edward (Sonny), Earl, Leslie and Bobby. After Cotton’s death in an accident, she married Bud Shaw and raised one more son, Jimmy. She was married one more time to Ivan White after she was widowed again. She was able to live alone, care for herself and still drive around Stanton until about a year ago. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and a child of the living God. She leaves four sons, Edward (Sonny) Henson and wife Teri of Stanton, Earl Henson of Spokane, WA, Bobby Henson and wife Carol of Benbrook, and Jimmy Shaw and wife Linda of Midland; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three husbands; her parents; two brothers, Roy and Earl Martin; one sister, Mildred Reynolds; one son, Leslie Henson; three grandsons, Leslie Floyd, and Stephen and James Henson; and three daughters-in-law, Janice, Betty and JoAnn Henson. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Bud Shaw. The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Mission Program, PO Box 1168, Stanton, TX 79782. Arrangements were under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
