Several years ago I heard about a thing called Laminin and looked it up on the Internet. It is such an awesome part of creation. The Bible says we are fearful and wonderfully made.
That is easy to receive knowing who made us and seeing a new born baby with its tiny fingernails, well you know what I mean. Knowing How big our God is , how He spoke the universe into existence, how He formed our human bodies together with amazing detail then breathed Life into mankind.
How can anyone deny that a creator put all this together? We can trust that the God that put all this together also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart. Our loving creator is also the sustainer and He holds all things together.
Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue. You see— laminins are what hold us together, literally. They are cell adhesion molecules. They are what hold one cell of our body to the next cell.
Without them we would literally fall apart. [Wikipedia] I read about this laminin, but when I saw it, it blew me out of the saddle. And I have thought of it a thousand times since. The structure looks like and is in the shape of a cross. And this is not a Christian portrayal of it. You can look it up on the internet for yourself. “All things were created through Him [Jesus], and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist [are held together” [Colo. 1:16-17].
The Sweet, Sweet Jesus holds all things together in this natural world. He died on the cross that you and I have the choice to accept Him and what He did for us on that natural cross, that we can hold together in our Spirit realm as we bear our cross of life. “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me”[Matt. 16:24].
Now tell me our God is not the most Amazing God, Savior, provider that ever could be. The glue that holds us all---all of us together—is in the shape of a cross.
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. ”For by Him were all things created that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him: And He is before all things and by Him all things hold together ”[Colo.1:15-17].
Thousands of years before the world ever heard of laminin, Paul recorded those words. Now we see from a very literal standpoint, we are held together one cell to another--- by the cross.
For those of us who have experienced the transformation of the New Birth, You would never convince us in a Trillion of Trillions of years that this is not the mark of a Creator who knew exactly what He was doing with the Glue that would hold us together in relationship to Our Lord and Savior Jesus, dying on a cross. Praise You Lord !!!
If you don’t know Jesus, this would be an ideal time to accept Him today. Just ask Him to forgive you of all your sins and invite Him into your heart.
Read the Bible and by Faith in Him believe what it says and He will reveal to you everything you need to know. Laminin is the thing that holds you together but Our Lord Jesus Christ is the one who holds us together spiritually!
